Which data sources does CX Social cover?

Giving an exhaustive list of all the sites worldwide that are covered by CX Social is not possible because we are working with a constantly evolving set of different data providers.
Here, we try to describe what types of sources we currently do and do not cover. 

There are two main ways in which we monitor brands, competitors and industries:


ŸŸ● Based on monitored social profiles
ŸŸ● Based on a keyword search
 

Based on Monitored Social Profiles

 

In this case, you link your own/your competitors social profiles to a topic to track all activity on those profiles. The social profiles you can link are: 
 

  
 

Based on a Keyword Search

 

Next we'll describe the source categories that CX Social can track based on a keyword search. We have 4 main categories: Social Networks, New Sites, Forums and Blogs.

 

Social Networks


Via a keyword search, one can only track public Twitter and Google+ mentions. For all other social profiles, we advise you to add the social media account to your CX Social topic as a connected social profile.
 

Note:

Since the 30th of April 2015 keyword searches for public status updates are no longer possible for third-party tools. What does this mean for CX Social more specifically?

  • This change only affects public Facebook mentions, status updates by users or pages 
  • The monitoring of your Facebook page(s) will not be affected by this

 

News sites


CX Social also covers news sites, forums and blogs. There's a small difference with these sites compared to social media. News sites, forums and blogs are crawled for us via different data providers. As a result of this, these mentions are not tracked real-time and it might take longer before they appear in your Inbox.

International and Local New sites can be tracked. There are some technical limitations eg. for news sites behind a paywall or where a login is required. If you are doubting about a certain news site being covered, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We can double check this for you. 

 

Forums

CX Social can track International and Local Forums, however does not by default track all forums. 

In the event of a certain forum that is not crawled automatically, get in touch with support@engagor.com. We can easily check for you if the forum is already covered, and if not, investigate whether or not we can have it added. 

 

Blogs 

CX Social can track International and Local Blogs, however does not by default track all blogs. 

In the event of a certain blog that is not crawled automatically, get in touch with support@engagor.com. We can easily check for you if the blog is already covered, and if not, investigate whether or not we can have it added. 


Please note that our data providers only cover dynamic sources. This means that static websites (eg. product description pages) are often not covered. Dynamic sources are often recognisable by them having an RSS feed which pushes frequent content updates.
