Last Updated: Jun 22, 2017 10:30AM EDT
Insights Profile Metrics provides you an overview of the most important metrics for the connected profiles in your topic. From Fan and Follower growth to the Engagement rate(s) – all of this can be found in the section.

It’s good to know that we have divided the Profile Metrics in two subsections: the Social Profile Metrics and the Flip cards. In this support article we will cover both subsection and explain everything you can see and find here.

●  Social Profile Metrics
●  Flip Card Profile Metrics

Social Profile Metrics

If you are looking at the Profile Metrics, the first widget you see is an overview with Insights about your connected profiles, called the Social Profile Metrics.
By default we will show you all the connected profiles in the topic, however you can drill this down to specific profiles by using the filter.

You can immediately see that we show several different metrics in this widget and we will cover each of the columns from left to right. You can click on one of the metrics to jump to that section.

Fans

First we have the Fans, the growth metric that shows you the total number of fans for a connected profile. Fans for Facebook, Followers for Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Plus, Tumblr, Vimeo, SoundCloud and Pinterest and subscribers for Youtube.

Right next to the green bar we show you the total amount of your fans for the selected date range and right underneath this we show the total growth of Fans during the selected date range. In case you are interested in the formula we use: Number of Fans on the last day of the date range – Number of Fans on the first day of the date range.

Additionally you are able to sort your connected social profiles based on New Fans, Growth Rate and Average Growth by selecting this from the dropdown menu right next to the word Fans.

●  New Fans: ranking based on the total amount of new fans for the selected profiles from highest to lowest.

●  Growth Rate: ranking based on the growth rate of new fans for the selected profiles from highest to lowest.

●  Average Growth / Day: ranking based on the growth rate per day of the connected profiles.

Profile Activity

Next to Fans you have the Profile Activity metrics which will give you a better understanding of how active the connected profile was. We have split up Profile Activity into Profile Posting activity and Profile Response Activity.

Profile Posting activity
Profile Response activity

Profile Posting activity

Profile posting activity is displayed as the purple line bar and shows you the number of times that profile posted something.

Profile Response activity

Profile response activity is displayed as the green line bar and shows you the number of times that profile replied to something. For example replying to comments, replies by the connected profile.

Additionally you are able to sort your connected social profiles based on Profile posting activity and Profile response activity by selecting this from the dropdown menu right next to the word Profile Activity.

Profile Posting Activity: ranking based on the total amount of Profile posting activity for the selected profiles from highest to lowest.

Profile Response Activity: ranking based on the total amount of Profile response activity for the selected profiles from highest to lowest.

Engagement by the Community

Last but not least next to Profile Activity you can see the Engagement metrics for the connected profiles in your account. Engagement by the community is the number of times your community engaged with your posts.

Additionally you are able to sort your connected social profiles based on Post Engagement rate and Fan Engagement rate by selecting this from the dropdown menu right next to the word Engagement.

Post Engagement Rate gives you an indication of how engaged your community is with the content you post. Post Engagement Rate is calculated via the following formula: (Number of Engagement mentions / number of Posts) x 100

Fan Engagement Rate gives you an indication of how engaged your fans are with the content you post. Fan Engagement Rate is calculated via the following formula: (Number of Engagement mentions / number of Fans) x 100

Example:
If you have 100 fans and the engagement is 150, then you have a fan engagement rate of 150%.
However if you have 1000 fans with an engagement of 150, then your fan engagement rate will only be 15%) You can see what types of Engagement count towards the Engagement number by clicking here.
